From the moment I was accidentally placed in my first choir class as a preteen in Houston, TX, I became enamored with singing. I continued to excel in singing through high school, becoming student conductor, choir president, and even placing 1st chair for the Texas All-State Choir my senior year. These experiences afforded me a music scholarship at Baylor University, where I studied music education and vocal performance.
During my time at Baylor, I honed my vocal technique, and I was a proud member of the A Cappella choir, the premier ensemble at the University. In 2017, I qualified as a semi-finalist at the Texoma Region National Association of Teachers of Singing contest. My passion for teaching began as an intern with the Youth Chorus of Central Texas. I helped young singers prepare for concerts and master proper vocal techniques.
In my lessons, students can expect a structured approach that balances technical skill development with the joy of singing. I aim to inspire my students, helping them find their unique voice and gain confidence in their abilities.
Outside of teaching, you can find me singing on Sundays as a staff singer for First Methodist Houston’s Sanctuary Choir, as well as performing with the Voices of Houston, a non-profit community choir dedicated to continuing the practice and performance of African-American spirituals.
I look forward to unlocking the vocal potential of everyone. Anyone can sing!
